Student Showcase

text that says Student Showcase with connecting circles that say: sustainability, innovation, research, project based learning, creativity, and civic engagement

This annual event publicly exhibits the great work students are doing across multiple fields and disciplines. It takes place in centralized locations on the Alfred campus and is open to friends and families, neighbors and colleagues, alumni and community partners from regional businesses, civic organizations, and local schools who’d like to drop by and see some truly amazing projects.

You'll find that Alfred State students are proud of their accomplishments and excited to share their innovative research and compelling design work. With the aid of models, posters, prototypes, multimedia exhibits, and sometimes even their advisers, our students will take you step by step through their own learning and achievement process. The range of their work is stunning: air-powered engines, fuel cell performance studies, taxpayer-subsidized stadiums for national sports teams, gene annotation of psychophilic bacteria, innovative waste management protocols, electrical grid configurations for local municipalities – to name just a few – and the list goes on.

Although the Student Showcase is first and foremost a community event, it does have a slightly competitive edge with awards presented to exceptional exhibits in areas representing hallmarks of Alfred State’s academic mission, including research, innovation, project-based learning, creativity, sustainability, and civic engagement.
