The Center for Civic Leadership is here to inspire involvement, facilitate learning, and help you make a positive difference in your community within and beyond campus.
We work together with community partners and others to create opportunities to identify and address community challenges together- here in Alfred, regionally, and beyond. Regardless of your major, interests, and background, you will find opportunity to bring your learning to life through serving others. Our vision is for you to develop into a leader equipped to make a positive difference in the world.
There are four major day of service events each year that connect volunteers with opportunities to get and stay involved in our community. And, there are hundreds of other opportunities to get involved through clubs and organizations, academic programs, and by simply connecting with our office to discover opportunities. Each year, students contribute over 70,000 hours of community service!
We also support and provide advocacy resources, campus forums around important issues, and political engagement. CCE is a primary resource on campus for questions related to voter registration or to obtain non-partisan information about candidates and elections.
Our leadership team is often found working across campus and we invite you to stop by our Leadership Suite in SLC 412 or to see our director in SLC 416. Alternatively, you can reach out via civicengagement@alfredstate.edu with questions or to register for an event.
Current civic engagement events and news are available on PioneerLink. Learn more by visiting Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
