Hometown Advantage

We’re proud to support local students through the Hometown Advantage Scholarship—a unique opportunity for first-year and transfer students from Allegany and Steuben counties in New York.

Local county students studying full-time on-campus are guaranteed at least $2,000 in scholarships per year—making us your most affordable option with the biggest return. In addition to this significant financial benefit, students may qualify for additional merit-based scholarships, further reducing the cost of their education.

While students may be considered for additional merit-based scholarships, the scholarship amount awarded at the time of admission will not exceed the maximum merit scholarship levels set by the college. Students may, however, still qualify for federal, state, and other non-merit based scholarship opportunities.

Applied to non-tuition expenses (e.g., books and supplies, fees, transportation).

Continued eligibility is contingent upon obtaining a 2.0 GPA each semester, remaining continuously enrolled full-time, and studying on-campus on the Alfred or Wellsville campus.
