Kehoe encouraged students to make use of the college’s Social Change Leadership Series as a way to explore and make the most of the many options open to them in their ‘odyssey’ years. The recession and limited employment opportunities can sometimes ‘free’ a college student or recent graduate to try jobs and even careers not previously considered. Alternative spring breaks, internships, studying abroad, and other forms of experiential learning can change a student’s focus and inspire a whole new career interest, according to Kehoe.
