Broome rallies past ASC

The Broome CC men's soccer team scored two 2nd half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and held on for a 2-1 Region III Division III victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.  The win improves the Hornets to 2-1 and drops the Pioneers to 0-4-1.

The Broome CC men's soccer team scored two 2nd half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and held on for a 2-1 Region III Division III victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.  The win improves the Hornets to 2-1 and drops the Pioneers to 0-4-1.

Tyler Paulsen (Letchworth) scored the lone goal of the 1st half when he took advantage of a misplay by the Hornet goalie and found the back of the net.

ASC led 1-0 until the 60th minute when Josh Cobb scored.  Stefan Miller-Lafi scored the game-winner in the final minutes to give the Hornets the victory.

Joshua Kashuba (Marathon) made seven saves in net for ASC while Colin Harder made six saves for the Hornets.  BCC held a 15 to 11 shot advantage.

The Blue and Gold return to action on Thursday when they host Finger Lakes CC at 4 p.m.
