Danielle WelchDanielle Welch, admissions counselor, Office of Admissions at Alfred State College, was recently elected to serve as the College of Technology
representative for the SUNYCAP (State University of New York College
Admissions Professionals) Executive Board.

In this role, Welch will be
responsible for representing the Colleges of Technology sector at
large, encouraging active participation of members, and encouraging new
membership.  She continues to be an active member by working with the
Executive Committee on other SUNYCAP committees and projects, including
planning and coordinating the annual SUNYCAP conference, New
Professionals Orientation, and Operation Inform. Previous SUNCAP
includes SUNYCAP conference attendee, Op Inform attendee, New
Professionals Orientation, Hovorka Grant Recipient, and SUNYCAP
planning committee. 

Welch also holds membership in NYSACAC (New York State Association
for College Admissions Counseling) and Guidance Advisory committee at
Alfred State College.

A member of the ASC community since 2004, Welch provides information
to prospective students and their parents, and guidance counselors
regarding programs and services available at Alfred State College;
participates in recruitment activities; and reviews applications for
admission to the college.

Welch holds a bachelor of arts degree in public relations from SUNY Oswego and an associate of applied science degree in marketing from Alfred State College.    She is pursuing a master's degree in higher education.

Prior to joining the professional staff at Alfred State, Welch served as an administrative assistant in the Marketing Department of St. James Mercy Health System.

The Hornell Senior High School graduate is the daughter of the late Dennis and Barbara Welch.

She resides in Hornell.

The State University of New York College Admissions
Professionals (SUNYCAP) was established in 1970 as an independent,
incorporated, professional organization and celebrates 36 years of
service to admissions and enrollment management professionals, school
counselors and prospective students. SUNYCAP provides professional
development opportunities for its members through the New Professionals
Orientation (NPO), as well as grant and scholarship opportunities. The
organization also sponsors the Op Inform (Operation Information)
programs held for school counselors at SUNY colleges and universities
throughout the state.
