Despite the chill and threatened rain of a June day, attendees at the celebratory groundbreaking for the new Construction Workforce Development Center on the School of Applied Technology campus of Alfred State College, attendees received a warm welcome from Dr. John M. Anderson, college president, as well as other members of the college community involved in
Alfred State College and the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc., a private foundation dedicated to improving the Alfred State College community through the support of educational programs invite the public to view the most recently built home constructed by students enrolled in the Building Trades and Electrical/Electronics programs in the college's School of Applied Technology.
The Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc., annually funds up to eight Alfred State College students through its work-grant program, allowing students who are ineligible for work-study funds to find employment on campus.
Daniel H. Whitford, Cuba, has been named to the board of the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc.
Dr. Maryanne Cole, Bradford, PA, assistant professor of English at Alfred State College has been named to the board of the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc.
Students enrolled in the programs at Alfred State College's School of Applied Technology and local eateries once again dazzled visitors to the Wellsville Campus during its second annual "Taste of Wellsville" event which was conducted as part of the College's Centennial Celebration.
Alfred State College students enrolled in several applied technology programs on the Wellsville campus worked cooperatively to complete house 47 on Meservey Hill in Wellsville.
Local eateries will once again participate in Alfred State College's "Taste of Wellsville," this year, Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. -2 p.m., as part of the College's Centennial Celebration. Restaurants and other food purveyors will showcase their tasty signature dishes in "miniature form" at stations around the Applied Technology Campus.
