Chanel WrightChanel Wright, Addison, has been named executive assistant to the president of Alfred State College. In this new position, Wright provides operational and programmatic support for the day-to-day activities of the President’s Office in addition to overseeing special projects and programs strategic to the College’s future. She engages in extensive interaction with all levels of internal and external campus constituencies, including College Council.

Wright joined Alfred State College in 2008 as a residence hall director in the Division of Campus Life, where she supervised hall residents; enforced college regulations and policies; served as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration; selected, trained, and supervised student staff; and was responsible for individual and group counseling within the residence hall. Wright has also led a number of administrative and student development initiatives in residence life throughout her time on campus; she has also been one of the campus champions of civic engagement.

Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nazareth College, Rochester.

The Addison Central School graduate is the niece of Thomas and Darlene Wright of Addison.

She began her new duties July 1, 2011.
