For the ninth consecutive year, Alfred State has made the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings, tying for 19th among the top regional colleges in the North for 2016, up from 22nd a year ago.
The college has also tied for sixth place among top public regional schools in the North, moving up from seventh place last year. Furthermore, Alfred State tied for 14th on the list of best colleges for veterans among regional colleges in the North, and tied for seventh on the freshman retention rate list for regional colleges in the North.
“We’re delighted that Alfred State continues to perform well on the national scene and we’re pleased with our faculty and staff for keeping us in incredible areas of ranking both statewide and nationally,” said Alfred State President Dr. Skip Sullivan. “Rankings matter to students and parents when selecting a college. We are pleased that these rankings are validation of the return on investment at Alfred State.”
U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges list is one of the most sought-after rankings among colleges and universities across the nation. The rankings include data on nearly 1,800 colleges and focus on academic excellence, with schools ranked on up to 16 measures of academic quality.
