The Veterinary Technology Club, open to everyone, is dedicated to advancing communication within our field and increasing interest in veterinary medicine. We aim to educate the surrounding community of Alfred and the student body about the critical importance of controlling the pet population through spaying and neutering. We volunteer our time and skills and we will hold fundraising events that allow us to provide the shelters with monetary and good donations.
Opt to Adopt endeavors to increase local adoption numbers while decreasing the number of “unwanted” animals born. We want to raise awareness of breed discrimination. We also strive to help remove the negative stigma associated with shelter animals and to educate on the importance of adopting these animals. We have partnered with the Allegany SPCA, a no-kill shelter, where we volunteer our time and skills and fundraise to provide the shelters with monetary and good donations.
