The Center for Equity, Inclusion & Title IX strives to provide an open-minded, welcoming and safe environment for all of our students. Through educational workshops/programs, professional training, advocacy and outreach, the Center for Equity, Inclusion and Title IX facilitates student’s self-awareness, learning and growth of different cultures, viewpoints and experiences. The office supports students in matters of academic, social, cultural and personal well-being, and promotes all students’ understanding and appreciation of differences as well as similarities. The Center for Equity, Inclusion and Title IX is committed to creating opportunities for students to empower and educate themselves, their peers and the community in which they live. We support and promote under-represented student organizations, including, but not limited to LGBTQQAI, students of color, women, Veterans and military service, international students and faith based groups. We are also deeply invested in the prevention, awareness and eradication of sexual assault on college campuses and proactively provide programs, workshops and campaigns that aim at keeping Alfred State safe from sexual violence. The Center for Equity, Inclusion and Title IX works closely with academic departments and student affairs offices on campus to create an empowering and enriching college experience.
