Paula Rezak Memorial Library

P’s Collection

Paula Rezak (“P”) was, for ten years, the first lady of Alfred State and the advisor to our Rainbow Union. Paula was instrumental in the creation of the organization; a fierce ally for all students, Paula’s heart was in advocating for the LGBTQ population in this community. She was seen as not only an ally, but as a friend, a mother and a confidant to everyone she met. Her spirit touched this community, inspiring compassion, action, activism and understanding on campus. Paula passed away in 2006, but her spirit lives on through the impact she made with the Rainbow Union. Her husband and former President of Alfred State, Bill Rezak, continues to generously donate money to support P’s Collection, our LGBTQ Resource Library, that is housed in the Center for Equity, Inclusion and Title IX, SLC 4th floor, room 409B. Through Dr. Rezak’s donations, the Rainbow Union at Alfred State thrives, being able to attend conferences, host events and add to the resources to P’s Collection. The library contains LGBTQ books and movies that range from resources, educational books and documentaries, to works of fiction, comedies, dramas and TV series. Check out the list of materials below—anyone is welcome to borrow something from P’s Collection.

We're always adding to the library. If you would like to donate a resource or if there's a title we don’t have that you would like to see, please contact the Cultural Life Center.
