Fall 2019 Schedule
Class A CDL Training will provide 30 hours of classroom instruction and up to 30 hours of highway and city drive time, one on one with the instructor and one road test attempt. (Additional road tests will be available for purchase at $400/test.)
Class B CDL training will provide 20 hours of classroom instruction and up to 20 hours of highway and city drive time, one-on-one with the instructor and one road test attempt. (Additional road tests will be available to purchase at $400)
Students will learn vehicle inspection, airbrakes, backing, eye on defensive driving, accidents and breakdowns, speed and space management, log books and much more to be fully prepared to take the Department of Motor Vehicle road test. The cost of one road test is included in the cost of the program and will be scheduled by the instructor. The road test will be taken with the Alfred State vehicle. Students must have a CDL permit and a DOT physical (pdf) before entering the course. Experience with driving standard shift is required.
Classroom Lecture Dates
Classroom lecture time: 3 - 8 p.m. every Monday on:
- Sept. 9
- Sept. 16
- Sept. 23
- Sept. 30
- Oct. 14 (CDL A Only)
- Oct. 21 (CDL A Only)
Drive Time Dates
Course instructor and students will set drive dates between Sept. 9 - Nov. 1, 2019
Each student is required to be at least 18 years of age, able to drive a standard transmission, hold a CDL class B permit with air brake endorsement, and submit a copy of their DOT physical prior to the start of the training. All the above must be provided to the Center for Community Education and Training at least one week prior to the start of the training.
Only those students who notify CCET at least seven days in advance of the start of the course will be refunded if the course is dropped.
