In order for transfer credit to be evaluated, we require official transcripts from the original institution or source. Under the coordination of the transfer adviser, courses completed at an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Education and that can be applied toward graduation requirements at Alfred State will be reviewed for transfer approval by the department chair in which the course resides. Only those equivalent courses passed with a “C” or above can be given transfer credit*. Refer to Academic Regulation 305 for additional information on transfer credit regulations.

Preliminary credit evaluations are sent to the student by email after an admissions decision is made. For additional information on transfer credit, please contact Transfer Services by phone 607-587-3954 or email.

If the course you are searching for in the Transfer Course Equivalencies Guide does not appear, then it has not been evaluated to date. You may send a course description to Transfer Services and the course will be evaluated for you.
